following information has been received from the Tourism
and Marketing department of the English Riviera Tourist
Board. Though the CBCCC had no direct involvement
individual members might be interested to know of the
event.
"
A Classic Car Treasure Hunt event taking place as part
of the Agatha Christie Festival 2008 on Sunday
21st September 2008.
The
treasure hunt will take place around Torbay and will
take its participants to some of Agatha Christie’s
favourite haunts and landmarks as well as taking in
some of Torbay’s most spectacular views! Each
car must solve the clues and pick up certain artifacts
from the area to gain points and win the hunt! The hunt
will begin at 10.30am in the grounds of the historic
Torre Abbey and should take between 2 to 3 hours to
complete, finishing at the mystery destination where
prizes will be given to the winners and then a Sunday
Carvery will be served.
This
should be a brilliant day out which will lead you to
various Christie-related locations on the English Riviera,
in a tournée replete with stunning views and
interesting historical gems! An event not to be missed!
The
price will be £10 per person however this includes
a Sunday Carvery worth £9.95 for all participants
and a free copy of the guide book ‘Agatha Christie
Country’.
